Patti Downing has been a practicing artist her entire life, with an eclectic interest in a variety of styles and mediums. Her interests in the arts began in her early 20’s when she started her extensive studies in calligraphy and the book arts. During that time, she specialized in the research of rare manuscripts at the Newberry Library in Chicago while she also studied painting at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. This love for lettering and creativity eventually led her to a career in graphic arts and printing. During that time, she became a business owner, a teacher, and a coordinator for a large fine art manufacturing/printing company. Her last job during this time period was with Portland Public Schools in Oregon where she led programs designed to help students with disabilities learn marketable skills. She taught the gardening arts and landscaping, and also created a high school program that specialized in teaching entrepreneurship.

Patti has always had an interest in the metaphysical world and has devoted her life studying in various realms of mysticism and the sciences. This included working closely with a Cherokee medicine woman, becoming a reiki master, and studying the mysteries of quantum physics. She also had a fascination for the beauty and power of gemstones, crystals and other powerful healing tools that the earth offered. She and her husband, Ken, have filled their home with these amazing gifts from nature and have always utilized the healing properties they offered.

In the last few years, Patti studied with a Tibetan master sound healer and this opened up a whole new world for her. Her collection of Tibetan singing bowls and gongs, along with her beautiful stones, her reiki experience and her understanding of quantum physics, provided a unique combination of skills that assisted to bring balance to those that she guided. The culmination of all of her life interests seem to have led her to this beautiful and fulfilling stage in her life. She opened up a retreat center, Spirit Wind Ridge, in St Helens, OR with her best friend, Laurie, where they offered opportunities for self-healing, self-empowerment, and self-enlightenment to those seeking a more balanced life.

Covid 19 forced a temporary shut down of Spirit Wind Ridge, but it also offered Patti the opportunity to devote her time to the arts again. She created her first set of orgonites in the spring of 2020 and quickly realized that these beautiful pieces of art provided a long list of benefits to the recipient. She became very focused in her creations, combining intention, sound and frequencies to create tools that could be used by novices or serious practitioners. Commissions started coming in quickly after she shared her new found love of this artistic, spiritual and scientific expression with others, which then led to the creation of Orgonite Alchemy. Her unique one-of-a-kind artistic displays, beneficial tools and jewelry are perfect for anyone that is attracted to the enhancement of the energetic fields that surround us on a daily basis.
